My husband, 5 year old son and I just returned from an amazing week on Alternate Latitude and I can't praise the experience enough. The boat was immaculate, comfortable and well outfitted for snorkeling, paddle boarding, safety, off boat excursions and plain old relaxation. We spent a lot of time on the boat and we never lacked for comfort or amenities. Simply, its special owners have thought about everything their guests might want and equipped the boat accordingly. Captain Steve was generous at every turn -- answering all of our questions, letting us sail the boat and taking us special places off the beaten path. Although not a father himself, Steve treated our (sometimes rambunctious) young son with patience and gave our son the respect of his honesty--that was really cool to watch. I could go on and on about all of the things Steve did for us, but simply, he left no need unmet. He is hard working, professional, and smart but above all else, generous. Captain Steve's wife, first mate and chef is a gem! She is authentic and warm and funny and kind! She seems like a person who would be a most trusted friend. On top of that, she works magic in the kitchen. Her food was fresh, organic when possible, perfectly prepared and impeccably presented. I honestly don't know how she does it in that small galley kitchen. I was afraid before our trip that our family might not be able to have its own private time given the confines of boat living. But Deb and Steve struck a perfect balance of engagement and privacy. Alternate Latitude is a great boat, no doubt. But Deb and Steve are its heart and work hard to ensure that you will have an amazing and unforgettable vacation. Thank you, thank you. We will be back.
